Introducing Lova Designed in Collaboration with Johannes Torpe
DUX introduces Lova, a new sofa designed in collaboration with Danish designer Johannes Torpe, bringing together comfort, craftsmanship, and contemporary Scandinavian design.
Developed together with Torpe and his studio, Lova marks a new chapter for DUX furniture design, bringing together Torpe’s emotional and intuitive approach to design with the comfort engineering and craftsmanship that define DUX.
Originally conceived by Torpe during a deeply personal moment, the design carries a subtle emotional reference within its form. The distinctive armrest detail reflects the shape of a half-heart, a quiet gesture that connects directly to the sofa’s origin and the meaning behind its name.
Now reimagined with DUX, Lova has been refined to support contemporary living while maintaining the integrity of the original concept. The sofa includes the integration of the unique DUX Pascal system to provide ergonomic support and lasting comfort, while every element, from structure to upholstery, has been carefully redesigned with longevity in mind.
Johannes Torpe, former Group Creative Director at Bang & Olufsen, is internationally recognised for his work across interiors, architecture, hospitality, and product design. Known for creating emotionally driven environments and experiences, Torpe describes his approach as “design activism”, prioritising storytelling, atmosphere, and human connection through design.
With time, perspective changes. For me, becoming a father and husband has reframed heartbreak as promise, and promise as love. It has also sharpened a deeper awareness of how we live, the importance of family, and the role furniture plays in shaping that experience over time.
Lova, meaning ‘to promise’ in Swedish, captures that shift, a commitment to quality, to ease, and to designs intended to last for decades and carry forward into the next generations.
